Half-brother to an Oaks winner by So You Think

winner by So You Think

A half-brother to G1 VRC Oaks winner Kirramosa by boom sire So You Think. Purchased from Amarina Farm’s Inglis Easter Yearling draft for A$100,000, he fits the mould of both his sire and Group One winning half-sister.

Trained by John Sargent, Randwick

Purchased by Duncan Ramage and trainer John Sargent for A$100,000 from Amarina Farm’s yearling draft, this colt represented excellent buying in the boom Easter market.

He has a pedigree both Duncan and John are very familiar with. Duncan purchased his 10-time Group One-winning sire So You Think as a yearling and John trained his half-sister Kirramosa to win the G1 VRC Oaks and G2 VRC Wakeful Stakes.

His sire So You Think currently sits in 4th place on the Australian General Sires’ Premiership and is the sire of seven individual Group One winners, including recent G1 George Ryder Stakes winner, Think It Over.

This colt is a half-brother to three winners, including the aforementioned Kirramosa, plus three-time winners Casino Jack and Te Karaka.

With only two dams on his page, this colt has an exceptional pedigree. His grand dam Olga’s Pal was crowned Joint NZ Filly of the Year following wins in the G1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas, G2 Desert Gold Stakes and Listed Wayne Wilkinson Insurance Mile.

She was an excellent broodmare, producing nine winners, including G2 STC Tulloch Stakes winner Zareyev and Stakes performers Holy Grail and Olgavich.

Duncan and John couldn’t fault him during their physical inspections and felt he possessed many similarities to his sire and half-sister.

“When we inspected this colt, John could see a strong likeness to his VRC Oaks winning half-sister Kirramosa and I thought he presented physically in a very similar manner to his sire So You Think when I bought him as a yearling,” said Duncan.

“This seems like a winning combination at a truly bargain price.”

This horse is now fully subscribed.
