The Englishman doubled his winning tally when he was successful at Rosehill and co-trainer Paul Snowden believes he can continue to progress over more ground.

The Cambridge Stud-bred son of the late Tavistock showed a sharp acceleration to come from the tail of the field to score over 1800 metres and take his record to two victories and eight minor placings from 12 appearances.

“We don’t do a lot with him now he’s fit, he’s a Tavistock and they don’t take a lot of work and he fits that criteria,” Snowden said.

“I think he wants a bit further in trip now.”

Ridden by Josh Parr, The Englishman settled last and was still well back on the turn before he finished off powerfully in the run home.

“His last effort (when sixth) was really good when he got back and there was no tempo and he got a bit of speed in this race and finished off,” Snowden said.

The Englishman was a $200,000 buy at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for DGR Thoroughbred Services and Snowden Racing.

He is a brother to the dual Group 3 winner Gunstock and the four-time winner and multiple Group placegetter The Irishman with their dam the Zabeel mare Zeranti who is from the family of three-time elite level winner Sea Siren.
