This colt caught the eye of Duncan Ramage and trainer Chris Anderson at the Inglis HTBA May Yearling Sale. Purchased for $70,000 from Twin Hills Stud, he’s a strong, athletic type and very typical of what you’d expect to see in a son of Smart Missile.
Smart Missile is a stallion that has firmly established himself as one of Australia’s leading sires. He is consistently in the top 10 by winners, and his winners/runners strike rate sits at an impressive 70%.
His top progeny include G1 winner Maid Of Heaven, plus Group winners Smart Melody, I’ll Have a bit, Crosshaven, Missile Mantra and Ballistic Boy.
A $100,000 yearling purchase, Ballistic Boy is an excellent endorsement for DGR’s success with Smart Missile and Chris Anderson. He has won 9 races, including the G3 Rough Habit Plate and has banked more than $700,000 in prizemoney.
This colt is the first foal from the young Bernardini mare, Admission. She was a talented sprinter, winning twice between 1200 – 1400 metres and is a half-sister to Stakes winners Strat’s Flyer and Bauble.
Limited ownership opportunities are available to race him with DGR and top Eagle Farm-based trainer Chris Anderson. He won’t be on the market for long, so don’t delay in contacting Duncan for more information.
