With loads of natural muscle, strength and a top pedigree on her side, this filly was a compelling buy for DGR’s Duncan Ramage. By the Group-winning Invincible Spirit stallion Ancient Spirit, she is from an impeccably related mare from one of New Zealand’s most distinguished nurseries.
Trained by Mark Walker, Cranbourne.
Purchased for $100,000 from White Robe Lodge’s NZB Karaka Yearling draft, this filly is from the first crop by international Group-winning Invincible Spirit stallion Ancient Spirit.
She is the third foal from a half-sister G1 ATC Metropolitan Handicap winner Patrick Erin, multiple stakes winner Gallant Boy and G3 ATC Queen’s Cup runner-up Beijing Boy.
She was admired by many on the complex, including Champion New Zealand & Singapore trainer Mark Walker, the cornerstone of the widely successful Te Akau Racing.
We were more than happy to accept Mark’s request to train her after we purchased her, and she will join their new permanent stable in Australia at the state-of-the-art facility at Cranbourne, Victoria.
Ownership opportunities are no longer available to race her with DGR and Champion trainer Mark Walker.
Duncan's Comments
“Sourced from the famous South Island stud White Robe Lodge, who in its history has stood some of New Zealand's Champion stallions in Mellay and Noble Bijou whose progeny grew at their Mosgiel property. This filly struck as a hard, tough animal with unusually high muscle tone and definition for one so young that you might expect made the progeny of those stallions so good.”
