Don’t Think Too Hard
An impressive son of legendary Group 1 sire So You Think from the Group 2-winning and stakes-producing Bernardini mare, Ruud Not Too (NZ). This colt shows the same athleticism as his sire and is primed to dominate on the track.
An athletic colt by leading young European stallion New Bay from Dusky Queen (IRE), a stakes-winning and Group-producing winner of five races. This colt is a full or half-brother to four winners, including Group winner Royalty Interest and stakes horses Un Instant and Nizaaka. New Bay was described by Matt Houldsworth as, “an elite stallion in the making,” and his quality is reflected in this colt.
Trained by Phillip Stokes, Pakenham
Purchased for $180,000 from The Chase, China Horse Club’s showpiece farm, he is a naturally athletic horse, and the package is there at a great price to achieve top-level success.
Offered as Lot 339 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, he is out of the Sharmardal mare Dusky Queen (IRE), stakes winner of five races who has already left an extraordinary impact as a broodmare, with four foals to race, all winners, including Group winner Royalty Interest and stakes horses Un Instant and Nizaaka.
His dam is a half-sister to stakes placegetters Achnaha (IRE) and Gifts of Gold (IRE), winner of the US$2.5m Al-Janadriah Red Sea Turf Handicap in Saudi Arabia.
New Bay is a son of the legendary Dubawi, one of the most successful sires in Europe and known globally for producing top-class racehorses, as well as being an exciting sire-of-sires. New Bay himself won five races, headlined by his G1 Chantilly Prix du Jockey Club victory.
New Bay is part of a wave of star sire sons of Dubawi taking Europe by storm. Others are Night of Thunder, Too Darn Hot and Zarak.
As a Group 1-winning son of Dubawi, New Bay brings a legacy of class, athleticism, and exceptional ability to his offspring, and has established a reputation already as a sire of note, having had 18% stakes horses to runners from his first crop headlined by three individual G1 winners and the Undefeated star colt Bay City Roller (1st G2 Champagne Stakes).
The cross with our colt also boasts exceptional figures:

A stunning filly from the first crop of Champion 2YO Golden Slipper winner, Stay Inside. This filly’s pedigree is elevated by her dam, Helix Park, a half-sister to stakes winner Outdo and stakes-placed Miraculous Miss. She has lovely fluidity about her, an extraordinary brain, and she looks to be of a very trainable type.
An impressive colt from the second crop of So You Think’s fast Group-winning sprinter/miler Peltzer. He is the second foal from the 4-time-winning Dash For Cash mare Miss Entice who has already produced current season 3YO stakes performer Statuario. He, too, is by a sire son of So You Think in D’Argento, so we already know this cross works and he’s a colt with plenty of size and scope.
Duncan's Comments
“One of only two southern hemisphere time-bred New Bay yearlings available to the 2025 market, this colt exudes the quality that has clearly made his sire one of the foremost up and comers in Europe. Join some leading owners already committed to the colt.”
