From the same outstanding New Zealand nursery that has produced Proisir’s multiple Group 1-winning/Champion Middle Distance Horse, Prowess and dual stakes winner Nikau Spur, this colt is primed for racetrack success.
Offered by Hallmark Stud as Lot 251 at the NZB Karaka Yearling Sale, he is by Proisir, New Zealand’s Champion Sire elect, out of the young Fastnet Rock mare Rockabye Lady. A true athlete, he was secured at outstanding value for $40,000, with his sire’s yearlings averaging $262,500 across 13 lots at this sale.
Standing for $80,000 + GST in 2024, Proisir is one of New Zealand’s most in-demand sires. Still in the infancy of his stud career, he has already sired 21 stakes winners, including six individual Group 1 winners.
His exceptional strike rate includes 62% winners to runners and an impressive 6.3% stakes winners to runners.
The colt’s dam sire, Fastnet Rock, has left a remarkable legacy as a broodmare sire. His daughters have produced 135 stakes winners and 15 individual Group 1 winners, including Golden Slipper winner Lady Of Camelot, Santa Ana Lane, Zougotcha, Veight, etc.
With an elite pedigree and all the right physical attributes, this colt has been highly sought after. Only 10% remains to race him with DGR and Randwick-based trainer John Sargent.

Duncan's Comments
“From our shortest of short lists—was it the first lot of Day Two that caught buyers off guard? By NZ’s Champion Sire-elect, Proisir, who averaged $262,500 for his 13 lots sold, this was a bargain without compromise. Unsurprisingly, there’s not much left of him.”
