Hailing from the first crop by G1 Rosehill Guineas winner D’Argento (So You Think), this colt impressed Duncan, who likened him to many of the successful classic and staying horses he has bought for the legendary Bart Cummings.
Offered as Lot 322, he was purchased for $230,000 from Bowness Stud and is out of Saggiatore, a two-time winning Galileo mare.
There is plenty of depth to his pedigree with his dam being a half-sister to stakes winner Export Gold (the dam of stakes winners Dubawi Gold and Forest Gold), plus stakes winner Follow Gold, the dam of Group 1-winning sprinter Driefontein.
He is a half-brother to three winners, including 4-time winner The Bohemian, 3-time winner Classique and sprint winner Italian Princess.
His damsire Galileo has well and truly stamped himself as a potent broodmare sire with his daughters producing 44 individual Group 1 winners, including The Autumn Sun, Ghaiyyath, Tofane, Saxon Warrior, Unforgotten etc.
Limited ownership opportunities are available to race him with DGR and highly respected Group 1 trainer Matthew Smith. Get in touch with Duncan for more information.
Duncan's Comments
“This colt presents in the style of a Bart Cummings classic staying prospect, so am pleased to combine with Bart’s former foreman Matthew Smith to see if we can replicate our mentor’s success.”
