An outstanding individual from the first crop by Champion 3YO Colt in Australia, Tarzino, this colt was purchased for A$230,000 from Westbury Stud’s Magic Millions Yearling draft.
Trained by Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr
Here is an outstanding individual from the first crop of yearlings by G1 VRC Derby and Rosehill Guineas winner Tarzino. His purchase price certainly reflects the quality this colt possesses, and Duncan was delighted to secure him in conjunction with his sire’s trainer Mick Price and co-trainer Michael Kent Jnr who commenced his training partnership with Mick in 2019.
He is the first foal out of sprint-winning mare Eau de Parfum, who is by champion broodmare sire Redoute’s Choice. Extremely well related, Eau de Parfum is a half-sister to G2 Queensland Guineas and G3 Hawkesbury Guineas winner Sambro.
From a family packed full of speed, this colt’s pedigree features G1 Golden Slipper winner Polar Express, and G2 Coolmore Silver Shadow Stakes winner Bring Me The Maid (also third in the G1 Golden Slipper).
Duncan’s first purchase with Mick is Craftsmanship, who won a stakes race this season and also ran in the VRC Derby. This colt fits the mould as a perfect Derby prospect, and it’s no secret that Mick has a distinguished record of producing Derby horses.
This colt has now been named Mangani.
