DGR’s Duncan Ramage and Randwick based trainer John Sargent joined forces at Australasia’s most elite yearling sale, Inglis Easter, to secure a son of Australia’s leading sire So You Think and the Group producing Anabaa mare, Gladwell.
Trained by John Sargent, Randwick
Purchased for $400,000 from Burke Bloodstock, he’s an impressive individual that possesses the athletic physique that So You Think’s progeny have become renowned for.
An elite Champion in his own right, So You Think currently sits at the top of Australia’s Leading Sires Premiership and is also the leading sire of winners between 1600 – 2000 metres.
His winners/runners strike rate runs at an impressive 68%, and he has sired 38 individual Stakes winners, including top G1 winning colts or geldings; Think It Over, Quick Thinker, Knights Order, D’Argento and Inference.
He etched his name in history when becoming one of only three stallions ever to sire three Group One winners on a single day. Day 2 of the 2022 Championships saw his sons Knights Order and Think It Over win the Sydney Cup and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and his daughter Nimalee followed suit to claim the Queen of the Turf Stakes.
There is plenty of speed in this colt’s family, with his dam, Gladwell being a dual 2YO winner. She also notched up Stakes placings in the Listed MRC William Crockett Stakes (2nd), G3 MVRC Champagne Stakes (3rd) and G3 SAJC Jansz Stakes (4th).
By proven broodmare sire Anabaa, she is the dam of two winners, making this colt a full brother to $2.3 million earner Buddies, winner of the G3 HKJC Celebration Cup (1400m). He is also a half-brother to Stakes placed sprinter/miler, Relentless.
There is only one small final share remaining to race him with DGR and expert Group One trainer John Sargent. Please get in touch with Duncan for more information.
Duncan's Comments
“The depth of talent that So You Think throws into his stock is now very evident to all. Unabashed fans, we are very keen to continue to tap his talent pool and like at the NZB Sale, we sourced at Australia’s Premier Select Sale, Inglis Easter; the best example of his progeny at that sale. Physical, style, demeanour and a proven cross with his full brother the winner of Hong Kong’s Celebration Cup Gr3. It’s all there in one package.”
