The Smart Missile Factor
Duncan Ramage and Eagle Farm-based trainer Chris Anderson combined at the Inglis HTBA May Yearling Sale to secure an athletic colt by proven sire Smart Missile from the sprint-winning Bernardini mare, Admission.
Duncan and prominent training duo Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr went to $280,000 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale to secure a son of The Autumn Sun, and the impeccably related Encosta de Lago mare, Madam Tracy (Lot 234).
Trained by Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr, Cranbourne
This colt is from the highly anticipated first crop of yearlings by 5-time G1 winner and Champion 3YO Colt in Australia, The Autumn Sun.
In just nine starts over 11 months, The Autumn Sun rocketed to stardom with an escalating series of championship victories that rank him with Australia’s best colts of the past quarter-century, including his own legendary sire, Redoute’s Choice.
This colt’s dam Madam Tracy won over 1100m and has produced two-time sprint winner, Tracy May who is a three-quarter sister to this colt.
He hails from an impeccable family with just two dams on the page. His dam is a three-quarter sister to the dam of G1 VRC Australian Guineas winner Alligator Blood and a half-sister to Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy and Stakes winner Red Element.
His dam sire Encosta de Lago has proven to be a potent broodmare sire and has claimed the title of leading Australian Broodmare Sire on multiple occasions.
His daughters have produced 16 individual G1 winners and 133 Stakes winners, including Alabama Express, Invader, Aligator Blood, Happy Clapper, Impending, Japonisme etc.
Purchased out of the successful nursery at Element Hill, this colt is an outstanding individual and very reminiscent of his sire with plenty of rein, depth and class.
This colt is fully subscribed.
