BRED ON A CROSS THAT PRODUCES 17% STAKES WINNERS-RUNNERS
Karaka Lot 390 Tavistock – Victoria Belle (Zabeel) Colt
Purchased for NZ$170,000 from Cambridge Stud
To be trained by John Thompson, Randwick
This colts mating is from the last crop devised by legendary studmaster, Sir Patrick Hogan. Conceived when Tavistock commanded his highest fee of $65,000, this colt hails from what is believed to be his sire’s best book of mares.
His dam Victoria Belle boasts a perfect producing record with three to race for three winners; including Champion 3YO in Singapore Mr Clint. Rated as the best Tavistock on the grounds by many, this colt is bred on the highly successful Tavistock/ Zabeel cross which has already produced Group One Derby winners Tarzino and Werther, plus recent G1 Australasian Oaks winner Toffee Tongue.
This cross runs at 17% stakes winners-runners for colts and has been responsible for producing Group One Derby winners Werther and Tarzino, as well as high-class Group winners Hasselhoof, Gobstopper and Pacrorus. This family has produced genuine champions Foxwood, Sovereign Red and Gurner’s Lane.
